Weekend Staycation at Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City

It is always a pleasure to visit Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City. It doesn’t only give you the best picturesque view of Taal Volcano – the smallest active volcano of the world. It also houses one of the best restaurants in the Philippines and the history if the hotel will surely capture your interest.

To start the year right, I spent the first weekend of 2013 with the company of travel blogger mates. Actually, my day didn’t start quite right that morning. I’m just glad that I am with the happy bloggers. My almost busted morning turned out to be a day full of catching up and exchanging funny stories.

The van trip from Glorietta to Taal Vista Hotel is approximately two hours. Two years ago, I went there by commuting. I consider it as one of my funniest and memorable commuting journey ever.

Taal Vista Hotel - Tagaytay (Jan 2013)

We arrived in Taal Vista Hotel – just in time for the lunch buffet! Every Saturdays and Sundays, cultural performers are present to entertain the guests, specifically the foreign visitors. I even saw familiar faces in Cafe on the Ridge. It is indeed one of the best weekend getaway destinations accessible to Manila residents.

The Cultural Show showcases the best Filipino dances matching with colorful costumes and remarkable moves. Of course, the most famous type of dance is “Tinikling”.

After our sumptuous buffet lunch, we were accompanied to our designated rooms. I ended up having my own room – Premier Lake Wing Room! The big space is good for three people. In order to entertain myself, I recorded a number of dance routines for drag queen songs. Yep. Don’t laugh!

Steady lang :D
Steady lang 😀

Later on, we were called out for the tour. We were able to explore the left wing of Taal Vista Hotel:

The Sky Eye was not yet open for the public. I heard some nice reviews about Tagaytay’s newest attraction. Romantic daw especially at night.

The highlight of our stay is the pamper hour with Asmara Spa, wherein we were given a very relaxing Aromatherapy Massage!

I took the opportunity to rest a bit after the massage. Wah! I want to sleep, but I am also hungry! 😛

The group reunited at Cafe on the Ridge for the Jamaican-inspired buffet dinner. The cold weather makes pigging out more ideal!

Taal Vista Hotel - Tagaytay

The bloggers, together with Celine and Ro of Taal Vista Hotel enjoyed this special dinner feast. Later on, the General Manager of the hotel joined us. For hours, we were just there exchanging stories while eating. Isn’t this the ideal way of spending the first week of January?

I got more excited when the Bulalo was served. Bulalo is my most favorite Filipino dish!

We went back to our respective rooms at 10pm. I think the rest decided to hang out in one room to exchange ghost stories. I don’t want to think of horror stuff while on a lovely place like this! The night is better spent just chillin’ in the room with loud laptop speakers on. By midnight, I was already asleep.

Oh, look what I found! 😛 nomnom

I had a very relaxing sleep. It’s nice to wake up in the morning with the view of the famous Taal Volcano in sight. I was surprised when a friend is also staying at the other room lol.

The group gathered for breakfast. Who doesn’t love breakfast buffets? Lazy Sunday!

That Sunday morning, we took the opportunity to explore the Right Wing and at the same time take a glimpse of the swimming pool and the garden.

Taal Vista Hotel
is definitely one of the best staycation stops in Luzon. You won’t feel guilty raiding the buffet or just lying down the comfy bed.

Thanks for the fun staycation experience, Taal Vista Hotel! :D

  29. Palawan wins hands down, for its paradise beaches, limestone cliffs, and more! Bicol with its perfect Mayon is a runner-up. Cagayan up north is also fantastic, with spelunking in the caves and with whitewater rafting in Kalinga River. =)
