It is a habit of mine to invite my grandparents whenever I receive invitations to visit food establishments. For me, Sundays must be spent with the family since most of us are busy with work and school the whole week.
Last October 30, I invited Lolo Peping and Lola Paquita to go with me to  C2 Classic Cuisine in Missouri Street, Northeast Greenhills. They were excited and for quite some time, my Lolo kept on wondering if the restaurant is worth visiting. The Greenhills Branch is best known for its Events Place. I usually pass by the area at night and i rarely see it empty. Debuts, receptions and press launches are usually conducted there.
Our task for the night is to pick among the Three Pinoy Favorites Set – Seared Tilapia in Coconut Emulsion (Set 1), Crispy Kare-Kare (Set 2) and Seafood Inasal (Set 3). We love Kare-Kare so we choose Set 2. It is also a perfect time to check the rest of the menu. I am very much intrigued with the bibingka soufflé!
While waiting for the main dish, the Pandan Iced Tea was served. I first thought it will taste a bit weird… yes it is, but in a good way 🙂 I think I finished half of the pitcher LOL.
The Tatlong Ensalada is impressive. Or maybe I just miss the usual Ilocano vegetable dishes we used to eat in my mother’s hometown. The salad trio is composed of the following: green mango with bagoong, grilled eggplant ensalada and salted egg with tomatoes. Lola and I loved the grilled eggplant ensalada. It is sour yet a bit sweet. We couldn’t help but remember my Dad since he used to make one for us. Miss you dad and your healthy salads!
Next in line is not the usual Sizzling Bangus Belly served in Filipino restaurants. What C2 served is a choice cut boneless bangus belly topped with lemon – flavored butter. I am very meticulous when it comes to milkfish dishes since i am from Dagupan City. This one surpassed our expectations. S’yempre, kinuha ko na most of the belly part 😛
Finally, the Crispy Kare-Kare! Boneless pork leg drizzled with rich peanut sauce. We drooled over the big serving and took a piece immediately 😛 The peanut sauce and bagoong goes perfect with the dish. I even added more peanut sauce in my rice hehe. What I love about C2’s Crispy Kare-Kare is it is not that oily. Over-all, this set is perfect for groups since they compliment each other. Pampatanggal ng suya factor.
I am glad to see my grandparents enjoy as we share this delicious dinner and at the same time talk about some important stuff – mostly reminiscing about memories related to the other family members. Also, my Lolo and Lola’s extra sweetness everytime we dine out makes every meal worth remembering. This also serves as my belated 51st Anniversary treat to them. I am a fan of their love story hehe 😛
If you’re looking for a place who serves a range of Filipino dishes in a unique way, i suggest that you visit the nearest C2 Classic Cuisine branch! We’ll be going back this Friday to try the bibingka soufflé <3
C2 Classic Cuisine Signature Series Pinoy Favorites Set 2 is worth Php 1395 good for 3-4 persons.

Looks like some tasty dishes there and the iced tea sounds interesting. Great that you are able to enjoy this restaurant with your grandparents.
Thanks, Ted! were you able to eat some good Filipino food when you were here?
