The Taal Vista Hotel is one of the most popular destinations in Tagaytay City not only because of its grandeur accommodation and weekend buffets, but it is also known to have a nice view deck of the Taal Volcano. Perfect for photo moments!
I’ve been to Taal Vista Hotel in 2007 with the family and balikbayan friends. We enjoyed the weekend lunch buffet and dropped by in 2008 with my Plurklakbayan mates. The third time is extra special because Enrico of Byahilo.com and I were invited to stay there overnight!
For the first time, I went to Tagaytay City by commuting. It is my first time to do so on a rainy day so it is a big deal for me LOL. From the bus station near MRT Taft, I rode a bus going to Nasugbu, Batangas. I asked the conductor if they will pass by Tagaytay and he confirmed. I waited for Eric at the Petron – Maharlika and together, we went to Taal Vista Hotel in a tricycle. Sosyal lang ng magyaya, naka-tricycle na pumunta habang umuulan! Winnur!
The staff greeted us when we entered the lobby. We went straight to our designated room right after signing the necessary forms. I love the room but boo, the Taal Volcano is quite shy that time and chose to hide behind the clouds.
Now let me present our lovely room for the day:
We went to Cafe on the Ridge for the buffet lunch. There we met Treena and Celine of the Marketing Department. We enjoyed our meal by eating and chatting about Tagaytay and some of our previous travel adventures. Cool weather, huh? I didn’t bring my jacket LOL I’m glad I managed though.
I consider that Wednesday as the ‘Perfect Bed Weather Day’. Tired from our trip, Eric and I eventually slept in our comfy bed and cozy room the whole afternoon. We woke up at around 5:30PM and went to Asmara Spa and relaxed with the the Hot Stone Massage, which lasted for 90 minutes.
It’s my first time to try the Hot Stone Massage and I can describe it as surprising yet relaxing. Hmmmm… me wants to sleep!
For dinner, we went back to Cafe on the Ridge and ordered two big meals: Kare-Kare (Eric’s choice) and Sizzling Bulalo (My choice).
I think per serving is good for three to four people. Guess what? We finished them all! Simot na Simot lang! Taal Vista Hotel’s Cafe on the Ridge wouldn’t be awarded by Philippine Tatler as one of the Best Restaurants of 2011 for nothing.
That day, Taal Vista Hotel is jampacked with visitors from the Department of Tourism and I think there’s a company Christmas party in one of the halls. There were Filipino and Korean visitors too who like us, is the enjoying the cool atmosphere of Tagaytay.
Eric and I went outside to check the Christmas lights. Ang sarap ng simoy ng hangin! The weather reminded me of my UK stay. I’m glad this coldness is tolerable hehe ang saya-saya maging masaya at malaya #emomuch
You can feel the Christmas spirit within the lobby area. You’ll spot the giant Christmas tree once you enter the vicinity.
There’s the Gingerbread House, which I believe is edible. It smells so good up to the point that I am tempted to take a bite Haha =P There’s the bonfire area and the lazy couch. Wow… It’s Christmas 2011 already!
Check out Taal Vista Hotel’s Schedule of Activities for Christmas and New Year here.  =)
As expected, Eric and I took pictures before going back to our room. Ang lakas maka-pictorial ala Aspen at Advance notebook! =))
We went back to our room afterwards to drink hot coffee, watch TV and end the night by listening to KPOP songs LOL. It’s nice to spend my third time in Tagaytay in Taal Vista Hotel. The cool breeze of the room is superb! No need for air-con or else we’d be frozen bloggers after LOL. =P
Before I slept, I just thought that the Taal Vista Hotel is a perfect place for honeymooners or those couples who would like to relax a bit from the stressful city. Waking up seeing the view of the Taal Volcano is a romantic sight, right? Hehe here I am again with my hopeless romantic ideologies.
More Taal Vista Hotel entries to come! 😀
