Are fairytales real? Not really. I did enjoy reading them in storybooks when I was younger. The protagonist female character runs to the forest to hide from a monstrous character then later on, a Prince Charming will rescue her. While enjoying these stories of heroism and love, images of creepy yet beautiful forests stays to my mind up to this day. I think fairytales were made to widen our imagination and the moral lessons learned to be applied in real life.
I can say that our short but memorable stay in the Mossy Forest of Gunung Brinchang is my top favorite part in our Cameron Highlands Tour. For a few minutes, I thought I entered in one of the pages of kiddie storybooks. To run or stay?
Before our Mossy Forest adventure, we had a short stopover in a four-story watchtower to see a nice full view of the area. It could’ve been a perfect place to catch the sunrise or sunset, but the haze deprived us from doing so. Either way, it is still the perfect place to be romantic… or to contemplate.
The gang went straight to the entry point of the Mossy Forest. Am I about to enter a real-life dream setting? Getting inside can be a bit tricky, but it isn’t as challenging as our morning trek to see the Rafflesia. I can’t help but gush with every step especially when I saw the Pitcher Plant for the first time. Also, the feeling that an antagonist disguised as a tiger or a big wolf might interrogate us anytime!
I feel bad that my camera isn’t working that time. It would have been nice to take a few clips and compile them to make a fantasy-like video. I also love the weather when we went there. Surreal, I can say.
Of course, we didn’t miss the opportunity to take pictures! We were happy upon seeing the final output yay π
Leaving the Mossy Forest felt like we’re about to escape from a lovely dream to say hello once again to reality.
