I woke up early this morning with the idea of starting with one of the island hopping tours offered here in El Nido. I prepared my swimming clothes beforehand and other essentials I would possibly need. One of the staff in-charge with the tours told me that only the Tour A is offered today and some of the other guests are booked already.
Being the photo freak that I am, I started taking pictures of the view from my breakfast table then bam bam boom – my camera starts acting up again!
My dilemma started when we were in Malaysia while we were in Cameron Highlands. Being a picturesque place with the tea plantation and all, I already had plans for the blog contest and the videos. Unfortunately, my camera got broken when we were on our way to the Rafflesia – in the middle of the forest! I’m just glad that Edgar was there to take pictures and videos. I am more than thankful that at least, someone’s there to record the whole experience.
Right now, I am here in El Nido, Palawan for a one-week solo trip. Electricity is off from 6am ‘till 2pm. Toinks. What to do? The waves are quite strong and all I can do right now is enjoy the view and try to write. Maybe this is the right time to be productive. See, I am writing a blog post now!
I am hoping that I’d be able to have this camera fixed later. My phone is unreliable too when it comes to taking pictures and recording videos. Oh well.
Have you experience anything similar in the past? Don’t you just feel bad whenever your camera or memory card starts acting up while you’re in a nice place?
Awts. Kainis talaga ‘pag ‘di magamit ang camera. I remember a few years ago, pumunta kami ng Enchanted Kingdom, pero ayaw mag-on ng camera! ‘Yun pala, naiwan ko ang battery sa charger. LOL.
LOL! Nangyari na rin kay yaya yan dati. Nakaka-frustrate lalo na kung ang layo ng nilakbay mo tapos may mga boo-boo na ganyan toinks.
This is why I always bring a back up. I have two point and click cameras, a go pro video and camera, and my phone. I cannot afford a really good DSLR camera right now, so I compensate by having many cheap cameras. If one doesn’t work, I just take out the other. Sometimes I feel like the matrix except cameras instead of guns.
Nice strategy, Ted! Might do the same thing from now on. I also cannot afford to buy DSLR and I am also lazy in carrying bulky things haha 😛
You should have borrowed mine then 😛 Unfortunately, you’re already there =))
Haha super laki din nyan baka tamarin akong bitbitin 😛 Thanks badet
I can relate on the feeling of disappointment.
My case was, the camera stopped working because the battery went dead. Kaya when I got my new camera, I ordered 2 spare batteries so that my cam won’t die on me again.
Another thing is, I my memory card got full. I still have to buy more mc’s so that this kind of thing won’t happen to me again. one that is of bigger space so that I can take vids, too!
Enjoy your trip, Mic!
Thanks Ate Arlene! Mas mainam na ang maging maingat at laging handa hehe
yan ang panira sa trip ung hindi gumagana camera. Nasa El Nido ka pala. Akyat ka ng Taraw Cliff!:)
Thanks for the suggestion! I asked them na, they discouraged me kasi buwis-buhay mode pag-akyat doon ngayon dahil sa lumot 😐
Naku, panira talaga yan na moment. Nung nag Pinatubo kami, nag-iinarte yung dati kong DSLR. Yun pala, kailangan lang i-update ang firmware sa service center. Libre lang ang paayos. Woot!!! Pero tae kinakabahan talaga ako nun.
Wah doon pa pala talaga nag-inarte. Glad yun lang ang kelangan gawin 😀
ohno! ang malas nmn! I hope its fixed now 🙂 Sayang ung moment dapat e capture. Enjyo El nido, Mica!
There have been times I’ve forgotten to bring a memory card and I’m nowhere that I can get one. The best thing you can do is not worry about it. Can you draw? Maybe you draw something instead.
